Rick Hopkins began training and trialing in Arizona in the 80`s.　 One of his first dogs was a female he got from Emmett Berg out of Hillhaven Hustler and Wendy Von Enstrand.　 Her name was NSTRA Ch. Grettas Garbo Gamble, MH.　 He finished her Master Hunting title and her NSTRA Championship. 　 She was the first female
GSP in Arizona to achieve a NSTRA Championship.　 Gretta was Rick's foundation bitch for Gamble Shorthairs.

About the same time,　 Brenda Roe was raising and training her own dogs in Georgia.　 One of the first females she produced and trained was out of a breeding to DC Essers Duke VD Wildburg.　 Her name was 5x NSTRA Ch.Snips Chick Von Wildburg SH UD.　 Cricket completed a 5x NSTRA Championship, as well as an AKC Senior Hunting title and an AKC Utility Dog title in Obedience.　 She became Brenda`s foundation female.

While campaigning Cricket,　 Brenda met Rick at a NSTRA National trial in Indiana.　 Several years later, they decided to combine both their training and their dogs. The bloodlines were very similar.　 His Gamble's Shorthairs and her Snip's Shorthairs produced their first litter.　 That litter produced both Logan and Rebel.

Brenda and Rick live in North Georgia and train for the public full time.　 They compete their dogs in AKC Hunting test and run in NSTRA trials, and are continuing to produce the dogs that they both love most.
